The name of this Audubon Sanctuary is, it must be said, a trifle twee. Images of skipping through long grass come to mind… But it is very beautiful and in the winter a little more “hardcore”.
This was the first outing for a small, portable easel that I acquired in a local antique store for the princely sum of $42. It was either very cared for, or had been used once.
The weather was damp and cold and I wasn’t well prepared. By the time I did the last painting I just wanted to go home and perhaps it shows.
Mark patiently walked around taking great photos which capture the place so well.
