Brisbane I

MG, PHOTO - Kate Wilson

Did you think I’d gone forever? Well, due to popular demand (yes, three people asked me) the blog is back!

To be honest, the faff of uploading and annotating images became a bit of a pain compared to the immediate gratification offered by Instagram. I will try to be better.

In the middle of May, work duties took me to Brisbane, Australia for a month. Sounds nice but it wasn’t really. I had two weeks hard quarantine, confined to a hotel room, followed by two weeks of intensive installation work. I found the quarantine even harder than I thought it would be. At the beginning, I was in such a funk that I did nothing – really nothing, but then I started to sketch what was in the room, flowers I had been sent (I cut down a plastic water bottle to create a vase), an orchid I had bought online, as well as the city scape – including intrepid and very fit window cleaners! It helped enormously. (Click on images to enlarge.)
