Although standing on the scales in the morning occasionally makes me think I have unwittingly joined documentary filmmaker, Morgan Spurlock’s dietary experiment, this blog title refers to different dimensions. I have admitted before that painting on a small scale is my preferred habit (In Progress IV) but I also acknowledged a desire to try something bigger. And at 36 x 48 inches, on my terms, this is a whopper!
Lessons learned:
1) use a bigger palette
2) buy a bigger easel – propping a large panel on a bench limits potential viewpoints and destroys my back!
It was simultaneously frustrating and liberating. However, I bought two panels so there is at least one more whopper in my future…
Carry on painting!!! I love the Autumn colours really uplifting!!
What a great view – you could paint through the seasons ( and through different times of the day) and have plenty of material for masses of work and not have to move at all.
