I will freely admit that I prefer to paint undisturbed and without interruption, but I did think I had a better poker face!
My expression as hikers approached, like a shoplifter caught red handed, and recorded brilliantly by Mark, made me laugh out loud. I hope I covered my discomfort more effectively while I was talking with them – a perfectly nice couple.
Perhaps, I was especially aggrieved to be interrupted as I needed to paint fast, the light was going, and rightly or wrongly, I felt I had my mojo on! I had prepped the three canvases at home with a gray ground – an easy choice given the weather at the end of the year, but it facilitated quick sketching.
