We first saw the disused road bridge over Wappinger Creek in the summer of 2021. We went to look at a property that adjoined it, and the melancholy bridge was the best feature!
At the end of November, it came to mind again as a local alternative to the very familiar lake views from our house. As I painted, Mark surveyed the locale and took photos, including the ones of me in the short video.

A couple of months later, and considerably colder, we thought a return visit was in order. I thoroughly enjoyed being back there – different light, different weather, and I felt confident in the process of painting that day – not always the case!
