Maine July 2021 – Part I, works on paper

Was it the best ever vacation? No. Was the weather consistently brilliant? No. Did I paint as much as I sometimes do? No.

BUT – it felt great to be away, somewhere else, together. And looking back over the paintings I feel happier with the output than I was at the time.

Monhegan Island must be beautiful in the sun. This is not seven in the evening but nine forty-five in the morning. I am sizing up something to paint but the rain had other plans…
